Manager of MISO Market & Power System Operations

Minnesota electric wholesale utility is seeking a Manager of MISO Market & Power System Operations to oversee the operations of the system Balancing Area and management of the resource dispatching functions. This role involves comprehensive knowledge of Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) requirements, tariff provisions and effective interfacing with The Energy Authority (TEA). In addition, this position will oversee the operations of various computer controls, metering, and communication systems.

Key Responsibilities:
•Responsible for tracking and understanding the rules and requirements of (MISO) wholesale market.
•Manages day-to-day coordination of wholesale resource marketing activities.
•Ensures full compliance with (FERC), (NERC),  (MRO) and MISO and other federal and state Agencies and regulations.
•Oversees the operation of the Agency’s 24-hour operations center.
•Supports the development of long-term strategies to meet Agency resource requirements.

•A minimum of 5 years of utility experience, preferably in energy trading.
•Knowledge of NERC, FERC, MRO, and MISO is preferred.
