Deputy Fire Marshal

The Deputy Fire Marshal supports fire prevention, inspection, and investigation efforts by coordinating technical activities and ensuring compliance with fire and life safety codes. Under the direction of the Assistant Fire Chief – Prevention, this position conducts complex inspections, reviews building plans, investigates fires, and promotes public safety though education and code enforcement. This role provides technical guidance and work direction to Fire Inspectors and paid on-call personnel, and works collaboratively with city departments, regulatory agencies, and the public. It requires strong fire prevention knowledge, independent judgement, and effective communication skills.
